Sunday Brunch at Hotel Xcaret: A Culinary Experience You Can’t Miss

Xcaret Sunday Brunch Review

When planning our annual trip to Hotel Xcaret, one non-negotiable on our itinerary is the hotel’s special Sunday brunch. We stumbled upon this extraordinary experience during last year’s visit, and it quickly became a tradition that we can’t imagine skipping. If you’re heading to Hotel Xcaret, make sure you have a full Sunday dedicated to indulging in this one-of-a-kind culinary adventure.

A Must-Book Experience

Sunday brunch at Hotel Xcaret is a sought-after event, and for good reason. The brunch is held at Las Cuevas, a stunning restaurant set inside a cave near the chapel at the resort. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, but the food and drinks elevate the experience to something truly unforgettable. With that said, brunch gets sold out fast, so I highly recommend making your reservations as soon as your travel dates are confirmed.

As members, we didn’t have to pay any additional fees to attend the brunch, but for non-members, the price is around $155 USD per person. While that might seem steep, let me assure you—it’s worth every penny.

An Endless Feast

The brunch is a buffet-style extravaganza with an almost overwhelming variety of food. Whether you’re a fan of sushi, traditional Mexican cuisine, pasta, pizza, BBQ, or seafood, there’s something for everyone. The sheer amount of food is mind-boggling, and it’s all prepared with the highest attention to quality and flavor.

One of the highlights for me was the endless made-to-order sushi and sashimi. The chefs cut the fish right in front of you, and you can have as much as you want. It’s a sushi lover’s dream come true. If you’re an early bird, you might even catch the chefs cutting a whole tuna before 12 PM, but be sure to book an earlier time slot—our 12:30 reservation meant we missed that particular spectacle.

Fresh tuna that weighed 154kg!

Another standout for me was the selection of traditional Mexican desserts, including churros and a variety of Mexican candies. One thing I appreciate about Hotel Xcaret is their dedication to curating authentic Mexican cuisine throughout the resort. It’s refreshing to experience real Mexican traditions rather than the same old Americanized food you find at many other resorts.

Drinks, Music, and Atmosphere

The drink selection at brunch is as extensive as the food. We indulged in mimosas, margaritas, and plenty of shots of Tequila 1800 Añejo. Whatever your drink of choice, the servers are more than happy to keep them coming.

Mas Tequila, por favor!

Adding to the lively environment is the live music, which creates a festive atmosphere that perfectly complements the food and drinks. There’s no time limit at the brunch, so you can take your time and fully immerse yourself in the experience. We stayed for a good two hours, and it felt like the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Final Thoughts

Hotel Xcaret’s Sunday brunch is more than just a meal—it’s an experience that captures the essence of the resort’s commitment to exceptional hospitality and culinary excellence. Whether you’re a member or not, it’s an experience that’s well worth the price. If you’re planning a trip to Xcaret, make sure you carve out time for this brunch. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
