Review of Hotel Gletscherblick in Grindelwald

TGT Rating: 10/10

Deciding where to stay in a new country is always overwhelming as there are so many mixed reviews. When searching for our stay options in Grindelwald, we considered whether we wanted to stay in a hotel or a classic Swiss-style chalet. Ultimately, we chose the latter and stayed at Hotel Gletscherblick for three reasons: cost, view, and kitchen.

Hotel Gletscherblick, despite its name, it is actually a wonderful chalet away from the busy main street area of the town. It is so quiet and I appreciated being away from the rustle and bustle of other tourists at the end of the day.

As you may have read before, Eli was only about 10 months old when we traveled to Switzerland and to say that we were definitely worried about the trip is an understatement. I was especially obsessed with keeping his feeding schedule and making sure he had enough food as he had been slightly falling in his growth chart. Thus, having a kitchen seemed like a wonderful idea.

We stayed in “Maisonette apartment with Eiger view,” an apartment style suite with 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, large balcony, and a full kitchen. It was more than enough space for the three of us and, best of all, the cost to stay here was actually as much as it would have cost us if we stayed at a hotel near the main street.

I won’t say much about the views and let the pictures speak for itself:
